Competition "IUS Wordy" Completed, Results in Two Weeks

On February 23, 2019, International University of Sarajevo (IUS) organized “IUS Wordy”, an English language competition for senior high school students from Bosnia and Herzegovina. The competition is organized by English Language and Literature study program of IUS.

At the welcome ceremony that started around 11 o'clock in the red amphitheater, the guests were given a short video presentation about the IUS. On behalf of the IUS, Head of PR Office Mirnes Baltić wished a warm welcome to the students, and the Program Coordinator Dr. Ervin Kovačević gave a short presentation about the English Language and Literature study program. After the welcome ceremony students sat for the test and the competition started.

The students had the opportunity to test their English skills and win prizes. For this competition, IUS secured a total of 10 scholarships: 5 of the prizes were 50% scholarships, four prizes were 80% scholarships, and the main prize was a 100% scholarship for studying at the IUS. All of the scholarships were given for studying English programs: BA program of English Language and Literature (ELIT) or BA program of English Language and Literature Teaching (ELT).

The competition consisted of three parts: Writing (composition), Use of English (grammar and vocabulary), and Comprehension (reading). All of the skills were tested in written form. During the break between the tests, IUS also provided refreshments and lunch for the students and guests.
