| Course Objectives | This course is designed to endow students with the skills essential to critically approach, analyze, and evaluate an array of realworld and literary texts across different genres, styles, and registers. The course focuses on critically reading and analyzing texts on contemporary issues, such as articifical intelligence, satire, social media, and discrimination, using a plethora of both academic and critical thinking skills such as skimming, scanning, analyzing, summarizing, inferring, inducing, deducing, reasoning, etc. Furthermore, the course aims at building students' argumentation skills in speech and writing - the former through students' presentations/speeches and the latter through writing argumentative essays. | |||||||||
